N2 - The reduced melting temperature of an equimolar KCs mixture is very low compared with other simple substances (Tm/Tc = 0.108, where Tc is the liquid-vapor critical temperature). We find the entropy of melting of this mixture is also low (ΔS = 0.6R). As the liquid is cooled towards the freezing point, its heat capacity increases by 10–20% reaching 8.3–8.4 cal/mol K. This prefreezing anomaly may be connected with ordering in the liquid.
