Abstract

Continuum equations are established for the study of the dynamic response of angle-ply composite laminates. These equations are employed to generate dispersion curves for harmonic elastic waves, propagating in the laminate in an arbitrary direction in the space. The reliability of the predicted dispersion curves is examined by comparison with a finite element solution, and good agreement is shown to exist.
