Abstract

A 40-year-old man with a history of end-stage renal disease secondary to insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus underwent a combined renal and pancreas transplant. Two weeks after transplantation the patient was referred for Tc- 99m DTPA scintigraphy. The early scan revealed good perfusion to, and concentration in, the kidney and very well defined perfusion to the pancreas. The scan made 60 minutes later showed a remnant of activity in the kidney with a full bladder and reflux to the duodenal portion of the pancreatic transplant.
