Abstract

Using a variational approach the dispersion imbalanced loop mirror of ultrashort pulse sources is theoretically described. The pulse propagation is described by the standard nonlinear Schrodinger equation with a modified Gaussian anzats. However this theoretical result appears to contradicts the numerous experimental demonstration of the high quality pulse switching of the DILM.
