Ultrasound scanning as an aid in the diagnosis and treatment of periprosthetic hematoma after breast surgery

Abstract

In cases of peri prosthetic breast hematoma, ultrasonic scanning can lie useful in differentiating seroma, blood, and clotted hematoma, and in defining their borders from the prosthesis. If indicated, drainage can be performed directly under ultrasonic guidance.
