Ultrafast phonon and quasiparticle dynamics in superconducting YBa2Cu3O7-δ studied by multi-THz spectroscopy

Abstract

We probe the mid-infrared dielectric response of optimally doped YBa2Cu3O7-δ after 12-fs optical excitation to simultaneously trace quasiparticles and specific lattice modes. Our results identify an extremely non-thermal regime and highly selective electron-phonon coupling.
