Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

This book explores the lives of “Blended families”, that is, families in which one or both of the adults bring their biological children to the new household. It includes revealing and insightful interviews with parents who are raising non biological offspring as well as interviews with children who grew up in such blended families. The parents – young and old, religious and secular – open their hearts and minds hence providing the reader with an intimate glance at their daily lives including
the challenges, the frustrations, the despair, the moments of happiness and the satisfaction they experienced in the new family they created.
The authors analyze the interviews with both parents and children highlighting major themes. They provide new and exciting insights to
this relatively under-researched – yet ever growing model of families world-wide.
