Abstract

Trimma fishelsoni is a new gobiid fish from the Gulf of Elat, Red Sea. The new species is characterized by a filamentous second dorsal spine in both sexes, 26-28longitudinal scale rows, 10-12 pre dorsal scales, 8 segmented dorsal rays, 7-8 segmented anal rays and 15-17 pectoral rays. Scales are present on the cheek and opercle. A key to the Trimma-like species of the Red Sea is given.
