Abstract
Recent large-scale studies and meta-analyses of treatments for obsessive-compulsive disorder have verified the efficacy of behaviour therapy with exposure and response prevention, as well as drug treatment with serotonin reuptake inhibitors. In addition, developments in cognitive therapy convey promise for the treatment of obsessions and neurosurgery offers hope for patients who cannot benefit from the less invasive treatments.
