Abstract

Traumatic closed femoral nerve neuropathy occurring in an otherwise healthy patient is a rare but well-described condition. Whereas the clinical features and presentation are fairly typical, the pathogenesis and treatment are at present still controversial. We believe that where a hematoma is found, or where the lesion is progressive, exploration is indicated. When hematoma is not found, conservative treatment appears indicated.
