Early echocardiographic evaluation of a cardiac donor after head trauma revealed left ventricular hypertrophy and severe left ventricular outflow tract obstruction consistent with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. However, all findings completely resolved, and normal left ventricular function was restored after volume replacement and catecholamine withdrawal.
