Abstract

A combined analytical approach and numerical simulation was used to explain the jitter behavior in connection with dispersion management. The dispersion management method with zero average group velocity dispersion (GVD) was fundamental in transmitting high capacity non-return-to-zero- signals. The propagation regime improved the performance of return-to-zero (RZ) systems since the time jitter can be deeply reduced without use of any in-line control devices.
