Abstract

Sarcoidosis is a chronic granulomatous disease involving multiple organs. Symptomatic diffuse muscle involvement is rare, occurring in only 0.5% to 1.4% of cases. The authors report an unusual case of symptomatic myopathy in the absence of pulmonary disease. Ga-67 scintigraphy was valuable in making the diagnosis and in monitoring the patient's response to steroid therapy.
