Abstract

A novel approach for the description of the tunability of a fiber laser using principal states of polarization is introduced. Upon comparing the theoretical predictions with experimental measurements, it has been found that for a 4-m fiber laser, the proposed description is valid for a wavelength range of 2 nm.
