Abstract

Several derivatives of 2-phospha-6-oxaadamantane (8, 9, 10 and 11) have been prepared from suitably substituted 9-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes. The bicyclo compounds were synthesized by a double Michael addition of a primary phosphine to 2,7-cyclooctadienone. The stereochemistry of the adducts and related compounds was determined by investigation of their NMR spectra.
