Abstract
Maternal allorecognition of the allogeneic fetus induces the lymphokine production at the fetomaternal interface. This in turn leads to the specific deviation of maternal immune responses toward the developing embryo, and improves the placental barrier between mother and fetus, thus enhancing the fetal protection.
