Abstract

A report on the microwave drilling enabling silent drilling and nailing in concrete, ceramics and rocks is presented in the article. The key principle of the microwave drilling is the concentration of the microwave energy into a small spot, much smaller than the microwave wavelength. The safe operations of the microwave drill is achieved by the specifically designed basis, which attenuates the microwave's leakage to satisfy the common safety standard.
