Abstract
Trauma has become an epidemic in modern society. In order to improve trauma care, the evolvement of concepts of trauma should be studied and understood. The influence of military medicine on trauma care systems has been and still is very important, although not all lessons of military medicine are applicable to the civilian scenario. This article throws some light on several trends and developments in trauma and emphasizes the importance of organization as a cricial component of trauma care.
