The Mössbauer effect in solid krypton

Abstract

The Mössbauer effect of the 9.3 keV transition in 83Kr has been observed with a solid krypton absorber and krypton-hydroquinone clathrate source. The linewidth broadening of the source is studied. A θD of 37°K for solid krypton is derived from the temperature dependence of the area of the peak.
