Abstract

An Aramaic Magic Bowl from British Museum, BM 91767, has been published in editions by J.B. Segal and C. Müller-Kessler, as well as benefiting from independent readings which were incorporated into his Babylonian Aramaic dictionary by M. Sokoloff. Nevertheless, many aspects of this text remain problematic. In this article, a new edition is presented, along with a translation and philological notes. It is hoped that this new edition will advance our understanding of this difficult text, and that further suggestions by scholars and the discovery of additional parallels may clarify those aspects of the text which remain uncertain.
