Abstract

This paper examines the harmonic contents of input currents (ICs) of electronic devices (EDs), such as computers, power supplies, various measurement devices, etc. All types of EDs have similar non-sinusoidal wave forms of the ICs. An explanation of the peculiarities of the device TCs is presented. Several criteria, which allow clustering the EDs in three groups are defined. For each group the distortion effects, caused by different EDs, are estimated.
