Abstract

By doing so, he gave the oracle its final form and uniqueness, creating two focal points for the royal Judahite ideology, which now centered on the incorporated themes of the temple and the dynasty. [...] the Deuteronomistic redaction set Nathan's oracle as the founding text of the whole history of the Davidic (and the Israelite) monarchy, which was now arranged in the Deuteronomistic pattern of prophecy and fulfillment.
