Abstract

The production features of K0p → K*0p and K0p → K*0p were investigated in a KL0p experiment using a continuous incident momentum from 0.8 to 3 GeV/c. Both K*(890) and K* (890) are peripherally produced and are well described by vector and pseudoscular exchange in the t-channel. The partial contributions of the I = 0, 1 ampliitudes and their interference terms to the total KN → K*N (KN → K*N) cross sections were determined up to 5 GeV/c using our data as well as other experimental results. This separation was done in both the s- and t-channels. The ratio σ(KN → K*N)/σ(KN → K*N is discussed using the separated t-channel isospin amplitudes.
