The article examines the role of Amazigh or Berber associations in the political unrest in the Maghreb region of North Africa. The political development of Berber clans are presented, as well as their influences on the region's political life. The article also discusses the ongoing efforts of the Amazighité movement to awaken and revitalize the Berber identity which may play a significant role in the political redevelopment of Morocco and Algeria.
