Abstract

The measurements of the average τ-polarization, (P_τ), and its forward-backward asymmetry, A_pol ^FB, at LEP using the decay channels τ→eν-_eν_τ, τ→μν-_μν_τ and τ → π(K)ν_τ are presented. The experimental methods used to extract the polarization and estimate the systematic uncertainties are elaborated. By the end of 1995, the overall errors are expected to decrease by almost a factor of two.
