Abstract
In this issue of Blood, Münch et al1 demonstrate that vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) secreted by acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cells facilitates their spread to the central nervous system (CNS). Antagonizing VEGF may therefore provide the first targeted therapy of this devastating complication of ALL.
