Abstract

Two extensions of the Horowitz Synthesis method for uncertain multi-input multi-output feedback systems are described. In addition to the tracking and disturbance-rejection specifications, the solution satisfies gain and phase margin specifications of the loop transfer function at some channel breaking points. This approach eliminates poor time response that may result due to disturbance/tracking inputs. An example is presented and solved with and without the gain and phase margin specifications in order to emphasize the importance of applying these specifications. This work uses the Horowitz Bounds and Loop-Shaping doctrine.
