Abstract

The spaser effect and prospective quantum-nanoplasmic device is proposed. Spaser generates intense, nanoscale-localized optical-frequency fields with many possibilities for prospective applications in nanoscience and nanotechnology, in particular, for near-field nonlinear-optical probing and nanomodification.
