Abstract
The diamagnetic response of a normal metal N in good electrical contact with a superconductor S is discussed in the limit of small applied fields and zero frequency. It is shown that even at high temperatures, the electron-electron interaction in the normal metal has a strong influence on the screening current density at some distance of the S/N interface.
