Study of the 41K(d, p)42K reaction

The 41K(d, p)42K reaction was studied at a bombarding energy of 10 MeV using a broad-range magnetic spectrograph and solid-state detectors. Thirty-seven energy levels were identified in 42K, up to an excitation energy of 4.8 MeV. Angular distributions of the corresponding proton groups have been measured between 15° and 160°. DWBA calculations were performed using carefully selected sets of optical potential parameters. The ln values and spectroscopic factors were determined for most of the above-mentioned transitions. The j-dependent effects for ln = 1 transitions were observed experimentally and qualitatively reproduced by the DWBA calculations. The results were compared with previous information and with theoretical predictions.
