Stable vortex rings due to parametric wave mixing

Abstract

The existence and stability of ring parametric solitons due to competing nonlinearities are analyzed. Some of these solitons appear to be stable to significant perturbations and may survive soliton collisions. Stable ring solitons are potentially important for all-optical information processing applications.
