Spuriously high automatically measured hemoglobin values in hypertriglyceridemia

Abstract

Positive errors in hemoglobin (Hb) measurements as read on automatic counters have been reported with high white blood cell counts, probably due to turbidity. We report here a case of spuriously high Hb values due to a milky plasma, caused by hypertriglyceridemia.
