Abstract
The problem of optimizing the electronic efficiency of a coaxial orotron is discussed. Distribution of the high-frequency field along the length of the interaction space, detuning, the Q-factor etc. are used for controlling factors. Statement of the problem and the scheme of direct numerical solution of the optimization problem are described. The method of synthesizing the profile of an open resonator focusing reflector realizing the optimum distribution of the field is discussed. Numerical results of the solution of the optimization problem are presented. In optimum operating regimes the obtained electronic efficiency value was 60%.
