Some remarks about the 'equivalence' of performance measures in scheduling problems

Abstract

This note addresses different classes of equivalence results concerning scheduling performance measures. We explore various notions of order preservation and show when and how the quality of a heuristic solution to a particular problem may be inferred from an equivalent problem, and when it may not be inferred.
