N2 - We explore the dependence of the yield (Y) for electronic energy transfer induced by an optical field between pairs of molecules, whose energy levels are off-resonance, on the intensity (J) of the radiation field which induces the intermolecular energy transfer process. We demonstrate that the relation Y ∝ J 1 2 is obeyed over a broad concentration range of the energy acceptor.
