Soliton wavelength-division multiplexing system with channel-isolating notch filters

Abstract

A soliton wavelength division multiplexing with channel isolation through fixed- or sliding-frequency notch filters has been demonstrated. The effects of interchannel collisions between pulses can be suppressed by the notch filters. The optimum ratio of channel separation to soliton's spectral width is also predicted.
