N2 - The exact solution to the nonlinear vector equations governing an inextensible, flexible, helicoidal fiber yields a one-parameter set of solitary waves. Analytical expressions are found for the displacements, internal force, axial and angular momenta, and energy. This solution represents an interesting example of three-dimensional solitary waves propagating in a system devoid of potential energy.
