N2 - We have studied the melting and the solidification of lead ultra-fine particles. We report on electron microscopy technique which enables the identification of the transition temperatures of each particle. The experimental results presented show a dependence of the melting and solidification temperatures on the particle size. The melting temperature results are compared with a new phenomenological model.
