Abstract
The paper describes a solar cell simulator built for testing and research of large solar electrical systems. The output characteristics of the simulator are similar to the output characteristics of a large solar cell array. The principle of operation is based on the amplification of the current and voltage of a small solar array, (solar panel (s)) exposed to real operating conditions (solar radiation, tilt angle, atmospheric conditions, etc), to higher values corresponding to a large solar array and its required load. In this way, investigation of large photovoltaic systems can be accomplished with relative low expenses.
