Abstract
Some physicians confuse seriousness with professionalism, therefore avoiding the expression of humor in daily practice. This review aims to exemplify the use of humor in everyday practice in the primary care setting, illustrating the benefits of its use. Physicians can change their attitude and "bring a smile" and joy to their practice. "Teaching to smile", as well as having a positive attitude towards life, can be part of the educational tasks of the family physician.
