Abstract
Leukemic skin infiltrates are an uncommon feature in subacute and chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. An unusual case of subacute myelomonocytic leukemia in which the presenting symptom was skin infiltration is described. The clinical course and the deterioration under aggressive chemotherapy emphasize the inadvisability of this approach. Single agent chemotherapy which is likely to bring about clinical and laboratory improvement appears to be preferable. In the case presented, oral cyclophosphamide proved effective and resulted in total regression of the skin infiltrates.
