Abstract

Three patients with sleep-apnea syndrome had severe sleep-related arrhythmias. In one, sinus arrhythmia with severe bradycardia and asystole lasted up to nine seconds. Two patients had central apnea and one patient has mixed sleep apnea. The possible relationship between the sleep apneas and arrhythmia is discussed, and the lethal potential of sleep-induced arrhythmias is stressed.
