Abstract

A model is suggested which allows to simulate both regular and interferometric SAR images of ship wakes. The model takes into account the velocity bunching effects and is based on the computed velocity field in the ship wake. ship centerline. The existence of the coordinate system where the spatial velocity distribution is stationary makes the theory of SAR imaging of Kelvin wakes somewhat analogous to that of a monochromatic ocean wave.
