Sensitivity, neuroticism and sleep disturbances: Some controversial problems

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

By examining 124 patients with different forms of neurosis the author found the REM sleep phase to be functionally inadequate in all groups. The sleep structure follows the character of the neurotic syndrome. The author suggests that high sensitivity persons can drop into neurosis if the compensatory increasing of the REM sleep dreaming activity has failed.
