Abstract

The study describes a self-control intervention package for the treatment of a sleep terror disorder in an eight-year-old girl. It comprises four stages: modification of maladaptive concepts; understanding the process of sleep disorder; developing self-control; and elimination of the sleep disorder. The intervention, conducted with the child in the presence of her parents, was completed in three weeks and maintenance demonstrated at a 6-month follow-up.
