Self-amplification of the field of velocity derivatives in quasi-isotropic turbulence

Abstract

The self amplification of field velocity derivatives was numerically simulated with respect to quasi isotropic turbulence. Navier-Stokes equations were employed for the simulation involving both vorticity and strain. The results depicted the domination of self amplification over velocity derivatives at moderate Reynolds number. The results also established the possession of quantitative universal properties by self-amplification.
