Abstract

This article presents six studies, covering a span of neurological and psychiatric brain disorders, including Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. These studies stretch across a large variety of modeling levels, exhibiting different choices of an almost inevitable tradeoff between the details incorporated in the model and its scope and simplicity structure. In all the studies, an attempt was made to present both the underlying disorders and their computation models in a clear and self-contained manner, accessible to both medical researchers and neural modelers. The details of each of the studies are presented.
