Abstract

Congenital anomalies of the gallbladder include anomalies of form, location, and absence of the gallbladder. Scintigraphic demonstration of a normally functioning double gallbladder has been reported. The authors report a case of a teenager who suffered from recurrent abdominal pain in whom scintigraphy demonstrated a septated, poorly cotracting gallbladder. Impaired gallbladder kinetics may cause intermittent abdominal pain; thus its demonstration by scintigraphy is significant in the decision-making process with regard to cholecystectomy.
