N2 - Time scaling and time inversion of analog signals using surface acoustic waves (SAW) dispersive delay lines are described. Experimental and computer simulation results are presented for several systems. Optimal design maximizing the time-bandwidth product of the input signal is discussed, and a comparison between the systems is made based on complexity, efficiency, and distortion of the output signal.
