Abstract

The article suggests that only one slab describing Sargon's campaign to the West in his second palû is missing in the royal annals and that there is only a 13 line gap in the description of Sargon's 720 BCE campaign. It further examines in detail the episodes that were probably related on the missing slab, dismissing the suggestion that an attack on the kingdom of Judah, similar to that described in the 'Azekah Inscription' was related in the annals.
